In the Meiji period (1868-1912), at Mikiriken Industrial location, Wakayama prefecture. It developed into the production of cotton fabrics using wooden handlooms, and the nationally famous “Kishu Nell” (cotton flannel) became popular. At the same time, it promoted the development of various textile-related industries such as spinning, textile printing, dyeing science, and dyeing and sorting machinery industries, and has developed as a core local industry.

The chemical industry in Wakayama started when the import of dyes from Germany was cut off during the First World War and the dyeing industry was in crisis.

In such an environment, Miki Riken has been promoting research and development of finishing agents for fibers for 50 years since its establishment. Starting with various base resins and softeners, we have the technology to add repellency, smoothness, water absorbency, printing, unevenness, ripple, opal, partial matting, luster, and raising, others finish to give any fabric a rich and unique expression.
